Daytime Darkness

More than seven years. Slavs killing other Slavs. The same nations that pushed nazis out of their lands are fighting each other. Just like that.

Vova likes to order people. Vova likes to think about himself as the czar. He likes western toys and he likes to torture his own people. He doesn’t really like Chechens, he destroyed their city and gave power to a murderous gangster.

Today he is destroying Ukraine.

Joe is old. Joe likes to sleep. Joe can’t sleep, he has a country to run. He is forgetful, he is on medication to keep him awake. Joe is angry, instead of daytime kip he has to play the war. Joe thinks that people are stupid. Joe’s forgetful. Ukraine and Iran are the same for him.

Boris is happy. Noone talks about his parties. He likes to party, he partied while his people were locked in their houses and care homes, dying alone. He laughed at his people. He does not consider them being human. They are sub-human to him. Today, Boria can play war and be a big boy.

There are others. They are sleazy, pathetic liars. They like to pretend that they are caring, honourable people. They are not. They don’t care that a young mother lost her child under a heavy bombardment. They don’t care that an old shopkeeper was shot at point-blank by looters. They don’t care that a cousin of a soldier raped the soldier's wife. The collateral damage of war.

When the poor soldier found out about the tragedy, he left. He walked for days until he reached his border town. He found his cousin hanging on the door handle. Soldier’s favourite cousin. This soldier never existed and the same soldier is walking back home while I am typing this for you to read.

We celebrate tragedy. Tragedy sells. The tragedy is good for business. The business of pouring blood out of children's wounds.

A bit too dark? You don’t know how to cope with this? I am sorry. Fucking deal with it. Maybe these dark thoughts will snap you out of lethargy. Probably not.

The anger is boiling in my veins. I am not angry with politicians, I am angry with you and with your incapability of seeing what is happening. If every one of us would come out and said that enough is enough the war would stop. Sadly, we won’t do it. We will choose sides, the sides we were told to choose and it won’t be the human side. Darkness is here and it is not going away anytime soon.
