Dark Nights Upon The Town

Summer left us once again. Cold nights and grey skies are welcoming us back to the dreary nights of never-ending autumn. Tired faces in the windows of a slowly moving car stuck in another traffic jam.

Rain, cold and despair. The heart is crying for no particular reason. A deep sense of longing settles down within the crying soul. The killers are on the loose. Hungry Ghosts are looking for the next victim.

The time of darkness. The time of hope.

I sit and listen. I sit and look around. Am I the only one who sees the madness? Or the madness lives within me?

Wasted hours, days and years doing trivial things. Participating in absurd activities that lead nowhere. What’s now? A bit of the same. Absurdity hides behind the rationality of a madman.

Faces in the night blinded by the light of screens of broken mirrors. Shattered reality. Meaningless stories of an actor from an empty theatre of fallen dreams.

There will come the day when we will wake up. We will look around and ask ourselves why we didn’t see the absurdity of it. We are better than that. We are better than mindless zombies seeking attention. Not yet.

Rain, cold and despair. The heart is crying for no particular reason. A deep sense of longing settles down within the crying soul.
